Lauren Salas Schuman grew up across various regions in France. A daughter of French soil, Chilean music, and gardens, she always felt a deep sense of belonging to the earth and its inhabitants, leading her to study landscape architecture, ecology, and the arts.

Driven by an understanding that humans are ecosystems, Lauren observes how bodies move through time and seasonality: rooting, blooming, going dormant, shedding. The making of a garden is one of the oldest art form and a living extension of who we are, a curated ecology.

Her work exists at the intersection of design, collaboration, and stewardship, where earthly materials and craft shape spaces rooted in emotional and sensory connection. Having moved between countries, languages, mediums, and disciplines throughout her life, she has consistently found a sense of home in the landscapes she helps create.
